HOLOPLOT Plan 2.1

Exciting new features in HOLOPLOT Plan 2.1 🎉

We’re excited to announce the release of HOLOPLOT Plan 2.1, now available on the HOLOPLOT Hub.

This release introduces S21 support with Low Frequency (LF) Coverage Beams, powered by HOLOPLOT’s advanced 3D Differential Beamforming, alongside a new 3D Array Builder, advanced BEM-based simulation, and a wide range of workflow and usability improvements.

Together, these updates significantly expand what’s possible when designing, simulating, and optimising LF performance in complex environments.

What’s new and improved?

S21 support & LF Coverage Beams

You can now design and simulate X1 S21 arrays directly in HOLOPLOT Plan, unlocking advanced LF control using HOLOPLOT’s 3D Differential Beamforming technology.

Key capabilities include:

  • Full integration of the X1 S21 module for design and simulation

  • LF Coverage Beams with precise horizontal and vertical beamforming in the array’s frontal hemisphere

  • Significant backlobe reduction using Differential Matrix Array configurations, including reversed and multi-row setups

  • Crossover creation via the Target Response dropdown to select the appropriate curve between Main and LF beams

  • Advanced BEM (Boundary Element Method) simulation, generating beams that account for the physical environment surrounding the array for greater accuracy

New 3D Array Builder

Plan 2.1 introduces a brand new 3D Array Builder, designed to make array creation faster, clearer, and more flexible.

  • Select arrays by product line

  • Edit arrays directly in the 3D viewport

  • Use the layout template gallery with recommended configurations

  • Receive warnings when configurations exceed recommended limits

  • Support for ground stacks and cardioid configurations using reversed S21 modules

Advanced simulation & analysis tools

Gain deeper insight and control with new analysis and alignment tools:

  • Magnitude response, phase response, and arrival time analysis per beam at probe locations

  • Delay alignment based on arrival times, simplifying system alignment workflows

Workflow & usability enhancements

Plan 2.1 also includes a range of improvements to streamline everyday workflows:

  • Quickly create many-to-many routings between Audio Inputs and Beams in the routing matrix

  • Custom Y-axis scaling on plots for clearer analysis

  • Improved batch processing for beam optimisation, significantly speeding up re-optimisation

  • New usability enhancements including:

    • Right-click viewport context menus

    • Beam duplication

    • Improved rigging visibility

    • Updated module visualisation in the viewport

Important note when designing with S21

To ensure accurate BEM-based simulation results, beams must be re-optimised whenever the physical environment around an S21 array changes.

If the acoustic neighbourhood changes:

  1. Unlock the beam

  2. Click Optimize

This updates the acoustic neighbourhood and ensures simulation accuracy.

Known issues

We’re actively working on the following known limitations:

  • No warnings are currently shown for invalid beams if the acoustic neighbourhood around an S21 array changes

  • X1 S21 optimisations may appear stuck at 4% — the progress bar is not reliable for S21 optimisations

  • Optimising LF Coverage Beams with physically colliding modules in the acoustic neighbourhood may cause an error

How to get access

Upgrade now to start designing with S21 and unlock advanced LF simulation and array workflows.
