# HOLOPLOT Plan v0.12.5

**Note: v0.12.4 was an Internal Release**

Before we delve into the exciting updates of v0.12.5, we'd like to address any questions about v0.12.4. This version was an internal release and was not intended for public distribution.

## **Introducing Zone Drawing!**

We're thrilled to introduce the Zone Drawing feature to HOLOPLOT Plan! This eagerly awaited functionality empowers you to create zones directly within the application. Whether you're designing simple layouts or getting started quickly without relying on SketchUp imports, Zone Drawing streamlines your workflow.

For those dealing with intricate venue models, don't worry – while Zone Drawing shines for straightforward zones, our guidance still recommends using the SketchUp import for more complex layouts. You can find detailed workflow information on the HOLOPLOT Hub.

## **Introducing the New Simulation Engine**

We're excited to introduce an update to our 3D Audio-Beamforming core technology. Our proprietary engine now is aware of the so-called baffle and edge diffraction effects which are particularly noticeable in the low frequencies and get more relevant the larger the array. Taking the effects of the shape and size of the array into account during **simulation and beam optimization** makes HOLOPLOT Plan the **most accurate direct sound prediction** software of all manufacturers to date, and **enhances the low-frequency behaviour** of beams generated by HOLOPLOT Matrix Arrays.

With each software update, our system continues to evolve, pushing the boundaries of sound control and redefining what’s possible in audio. For those using EASE for advanced closed-room simulations, you can [read the technical paper](https://holoplot.com/holoplot-technology-downloads) on this topic, where we provide more in-depth insights.

## **Update Your Beams**

To fully benefit from the enhanced performance and capabilities of our new simulation engine, a small action is needed on your end. If you've generated beams in previous releases that haven't been played on a HOLOPLOT system yet, you'll need to update them. Don't worry, the latest version will prompt you to do this when you open your project.

## **Camera Improvements**

Navigating through the viewport is now smoother than ever using enhanced camera mechanics. We've fine-tuned the camera zoom mechanism, slowing it down as you approach obstacles resulting in a more precise navigation experience.

## **Fixes**

* **Array Layout Problem**: We've resolved an intermittent issue related to array layouts that occasionally arose during glTF imports. Your arrays should now consistently maintain their intended configurations.
* **Zone Import Enhancements**: Minor issues associated with importing zones from glTF files have been meticulously addressed. Importing zones should now be a smoother and more reliable process.
* **Probe Loading Resolved**: If you've encountered issues with probes when loading projects, you'll be pleased to know that we've successfully resolved this problem.
* **Multi-Monitor Consistency**: Moving the application across monitors with varying resolutions/DPI should no longer result in inconsistencies. Our UI now adapts more seamlessly to different display setups.
* **macOS Stability Restored**: A macOS-specific issue caused by a missing dynamic library has been identified and fixed. The result is a more stable and reliable experience for macOS users.
* **Compatibility for Invalid Zones**: Loading projects with invalid zones from older versions should no longer lead to crashes. Our efforts ensure that your projects remain accessible and functional.
